We have paused all in-person and virtual events and hope to restart our in-person programs very soon. These include the following upcoming events: April 24, 2020 - 4th Annual Patient Experience Forum May 19, 2020 - Clinical Informatics Luncheon June 1, 2020 - 2020 Annual Healthcare IT Conference You will receive an e-mail letting you know when to register for our next event. Kennedy, MBA, RN President, HIMSS Southern California Chapter Message from the President - March 19, 2020 Dear HIMSS SoCal Community, We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for being a valued member of HIMSS Southern California. We are grateful for your insights and it is our pleasure to bring you special programs and services. Our teams, like everyone around the world, are feeling the effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and our thoughts go out to anyone affected. We are very focused on the safety of our members as well as how to best maintain and deliver value and service to you all. For the first time in 58 years the HIMSS Global Conference was cancelled. As noted from National HIMSS, "it is now clear that cancellation was unavoidable in order to meet HIMSS’ obligation to protect the health and safety of the global HIMSS community, employees and local residents, as well as for the healthcare providers tasked with keeping our U.S. and global communities healthy. HIMSS has provided a HIMSS20 Cancellation FAQ page for more information." If you were registered for the HIMSS SoCal Chapter Reception , you automatically received a full refund for the event. Upcoming Chapter events will be evaluated on whether to proceed based on the situation and health risks. Our next scheduled events are as follows: 4th Annual Patient Experience Forum – No in-person event. If you are registered, you will receive a refund shortly. Virtual webinar TBD. 2020 State HIT Day - May 5 Clinical Informatics Luncheon - May 19 2020 Healthcare IT Conference - June 1 Please note that we will continue to provide updates via membership e-mails and on our website socal.himsschapter.org . On our website you will also have access to our professional resources including our podcasts! Please know we are working closely with our partners and national HIMSS to gather information about their respective events, and we will update and respond as information becomes available. As a business we are closely following all Federal, State and local, government recommendations as well as the most up-to-date recommendations and advisories from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We are committed to serving our members, partners and volunteers during this uncertain and ever changing situation.
